After earning my B.A. in Sociology from Rutgers University in 1975, I spent 35 years working for the Department of the Army, first as an Officer, then as a Civilian. Upon my retirement in 2017, my wife and I moved to Colorado, where she grew up and raised her family. After exploring the Front Range together, we both fell in love with the Pikes Peak Region, where we have made our home.
I earned a commission in the U.S. Army through the Reserve Officer Training Course at Rutgers University. During my four years as an Infantry Officer at Fort Benning, Georgia and West Berlin, German Democratic Republic, I was assigned to the 4th Battalion 6th Infantry Regiment, Berlin Brigade. My duties included, Battalion S-4, Company Executive Officer, Indirect Fire Support Officer, and Rifle Platoon Leader. As a result of injuries received while serving in the Berlin Brigade, I left active duty as a disabled veteran.

After active duty, I served 31 years with the Department of the Army as a Senior Resource Management Analyst at various duty stations in Germany, Bosnia, Kuwait, Korea, the Pentagon, Fort Monroe, and Fort Eustis, Virginia. During that time I conducted acquisition management oversight of service contracts, reviewed and validated Programs of Instruction, managed manpower studies, developed medical force structure allocations for Major Army & Joint Commands, and managed a $3.5 million budget which supported a Reception Staging and Onward Movement Base during the Bosnian Peacekeeping Mission.
